The Yeezy Boost 500 showed that Kanye West has great design sense. This shoe furthered his track record of designing interesting, on-trend shoes. Released in 2018, with the help of an icon designer for Louis Vuitton “Virgil Abloh” this shoe features a thick sole with rounded protrusions. The midsole has some lift instead of sitting flush with the ground. The Yeezy Boost 500 was hotly anticipated and very exclusive. Originally, the shoes were allotted to devoted fans through a raffle system. Later, some releases were packaged with other Yeezy gear. To score a pair of these, fans had to buy $500 worth of athleisure apparel. The Yeezy Boost 500 was produced mostly in dusty, desert-inspired neutral tones.
The subdued palette is contrasted by a bold silhouette, featuring a paneled mesh and suede upper combined with a hefty midsole reminiscent of adidas’ Feet You Wear' technology of the 1990s.
