Brothers Paul Van Doren and Jim Van Doren along with partners Gordon Lee and Serge Delia opened for business at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim, Calif. on March 16, 1966. The Van Doren Rubber Company was unique in one key aspect was it manufactured shoes on premises and sold them directly to the public.
Since that day Vans has become an icon in the sneaker and related apparel industry in the arenas of skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding and BMX. They also sponsor many events and teams in the fore mentioned sports.
DESCRIPTION AND FEATURES:
The first to bear the iconic side stripe, the Vans Old Skool is a low top, lace-up shoe. It is lined, has padded collars for support and flexibility, re-enforced toecaps to withstand repeated wear, and features the Vans signature waffle outsole for a firmer grip.
